Prof Mark Hutchison

Prof Mark Hutchinson is a scientific leader in the convergence field of neuroimmunopharmacology, with over two decades of experience in advancing medical research and delivery of clinical solutions. As Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Nanoscale BioPhotonics and President of Science and Technology Australia, he has spearheaded multidisciplinary teams, driving forward innovative research in pain, addiction, mental health, and human performance.

His work has garnered over $71 million in funding, producing over 250 publications and significant commercial impact through translational research in 19 startups with over $500M in economic impact. He serves roles on the PM’s National Science and Technology Council, the board of the Australian Economic Accelerator.
