Prof Yun-Hee Jeon

As a registered nurse, academic and leading Australian researcher in psychogeriatrics and gerontology, Yun-Hee focuses her research on developing innovative and creative approaches to improving the health and wellbeing of older people.

She has expertise in dementia and aged care models of care focusing on person-centred care, reablement and rehabilitation, and clinical leadership in long-term care settings. She also leads a number of initiatives for public and patient involvement in research and citizen science.

Yun-Hee is recognised for her significant contributions to building the evidence for person-centred care, a philosophy that underpins all of her research, that focuses on understanding and addressing the need of an individual and their capabilities rather than impairment.

In 2022 her commitment and contribution to healthy ageing research in long-term care was recognised by The UN Decade of Health Ageing as one of 2022 The Healthy Ageing 50: Leaders transforming the world to be a better place to grow older.
